Riyadh, September 16, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at Al-Yamamah Palace on Wednesday, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, regional issues, and the Palestine conflict.
According to the official statement, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with full royal protocol. The Prime Minister was also presented with a guard of honor by the Saudi armed forces.
During the talks, the two sides reviewed all aspects of Pakistan-Saudi ties and agreed to further strengthen cooperation. Both leaders jointly condemned Israel’s recent attack on Qatar and stressed the need for stronger collective efforts for regional peace.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reiterated that resolving the Palestine issue was essential for peace in the Middle East. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent and firm stance on Palestine, assuring that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia on the issue.
The meeting was also attended by Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir; Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar; Defence Minister Khawaja Asif; Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb; Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik; and Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Riyadh on the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. His aircraft was escorted by Saudi Air Force F-15 fighter jets upon entering Saudi airspace. At Riyadh Airport, he was received by the Deputy Governor of Riyadh, along with Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq.
The Saudi capital welcomed the Pakistani premier by hoisting green crescent flags across the city, while a 21-gun salute and a guard of honor by Saudi forces marked his arrival.
