Lahore, September 22, 2025: Left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu produced a career-best performance of 6/26 to spearhead Pakistan’s demolition of South Africa for just 115 runs in the third and final ODI at Gaddafi Stadium on Monday.

Opting to bat first, South Africa appeared comfortable at 59/2 inside nine overs, but a collapse triggered by Omaima Sohail’s dismissal of opener Karabo Meso (12) saw the visitors lose their last seven wickets for only 46 runs in 100 deliveries.

Sandhu ran through the middle order with precision, while Syeda Aroob Shah (2 wickets) and seamers Diana Baig and Omaima (one apiece) wrapped up the innings in just 25.5 overs. Skipper Laura Wolvaardt top-scored with a brisk 28, while Masabata Klaas and Nadine de Klerk chipped in with 13 each. Five batters failed to reach double figures against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack.

Sandhu’s figures of 6/26 not only marked her career-best in ODIs but also etched her into Pakistan’s record books. It is now the second-best bowling performance by a Pakistani in women’s ODIs, surpassing Sana Mir’s 5/32 against the Netherlands in 2010. The all-time record remains with Sajjida Shah, who took 7/4 against Japan in 2003.

Best bowling figures for Pakistan in women’s ODIs

  • Sajjida Shah – 7/4 vs Japan (2003)
  • Nashra Sandhu – 6/26 vs South Africa (2025)
  • Sana Mir – 5/32 vs Netherlands (2010)

Sandhu also reached another milestone, becoming only the third Pakistani to claim 100 ODI wickets, joining former captain Nida Dar and ICC Hall of Famer Sana Mir.

Most wickets for Pakistan in women’s ODIs

  • Sana Mir – 151 wickets in 120 matches
  • Nida Dar – 108 wickets in 112 matches
  • Nashra Sandhu – 104 wickets in 74 matches

Her spell ensured Pakistan bowled out the Proteas for a modest total, leaving the home side with a comfortable chase to seal the three-match series.
