Dubai, September 25, 2025: Bangladesh captain elected to field first after winning the toss against Pakistan in a must-win Super Four clash of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The high-stakes encounter will decide which team advances to face India in Sunday’s final.

Pakistan and Bangladesh share a long-standing T20I rivalry, having met 25 times in the format. The Green Shirts hold a dominant record with 20 wins compared to Bangladesh’s five.

Both sides recently enjoyed success on home soil in bilateral contests. Pakistan swept Bangladesh 3-0 in Lahore in May-June, while the Tigers hit back with a 2-1 series win in Mirpur in July.

Momentum coming into today’s fixture is finely balanced. Each team has suffered two defeats in their last five matches and holds one win apiece in the Super Four stage.

Bangladesh opened their Super Four campaign with victory over Sri Lanka but were later thrashed by India by 41 runs. Pakistan, meanwhile, began with a six-wicket loss to arch-rivals India but regained footing with a hard-fought five-wicket triumph over defending champions Sri Lanka.

The winner of tonight’s clash will join India in the grand finale of the tournament, turning this contest into a virtual semi-final.
