Multan, October 15,2024- On the first day of the second Test match, Pakistan posted a total of 259 runs for the loss of 5 wickets against England. Kamran Ghulam, making his debut, scored a brilliant century.

Pakistan had a shaky start after winning the toss and opting to bat at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Abdullah Shafique failed to impress again, getting out for just 7 runs. Captain Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel also couldn’t stay long at the crease, scoring only 3 and 4 runs respectively. Pakistan lost their first two wickets for just 19 runs.

However, a solid 149-run partnership between Kamran Ghulam and Saim Ayub stabilized the innings. Saim scored a well-played 77 before getting dismissed. Kamran Ghulam, on his debut, was the top scorer for Pakistan with an outstanding 118 runs.

At stumps, Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 37, and Salman Ali Agha was on 5. Pakistan will resume their innings tomorrow, hoping to build a larger total.

For England, Jack Leach picked up 2 wickets, while Shoaib Bashir, Matthew Potts, and Brydon Carse claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, Pakistan’s captain Shan Masood, after winning the toss, said the team aims to put up a big score to put England under pressure. Meanwhile, England captain Ben Stokes, who returned after missing the first Test due to injury, expressed confidence following their victory in the first match and said they are determined to win the series.

England made a couple of changes for the second Test, bringing back Stokes while dropping Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson.Bottom of Form
