New York, September 25, 2025: Pakistan and Belgium reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation during a high-level meeting held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar met Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot in New York, where the two sides reviewed the state of bilateral relations and explored new avenues for collaboration.

The ministers noted the steady growth of ties between the two countries and emphasized the importance of expanding trade and economic partnerships. Climate change also featured prominently in the discussions, with both leaders agreeing on the urgency of joint efforts to tackle global environmental challenges. Pakistan shared its ongoing climate resilience initiatives, while Belgium expressed readiness to support sustainable development projects.

The two sides further discussed enhancing cooperation in education, stressing the role of academic exchanges and research collaborations in fostering mutual understanding.
