Lahore, September 27, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday launched a province-wide campaign to survey losses caused by the recent devastating floods, with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) tasked to lead the effort.

At a ceremony in Lahore, the chief minister administered an oath to scores of volunteers who will carry out the survey and estimate damages to crops, homes, and infrastructure across affected districts.

Addressing the gathering, Maryam said, “Those who work for humanity are the best friends of God. Helping people in their difficult times is a form of worship.” She praised the dedication of volunteers who have been engaged in relief activities since the floods hit the province.

Calling the disaster the “worst flood of the decade,” she said Punjab had never witnessed such devastation in its history. “Serving the people of Punjab is my foremost responsibility,” the chief minister added.

Officials said the survey would provide the basis for targeted compensation and rehabilitation measures for affected families, farmers, and livestock owners.
