Rawalpindi, September 29, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has voiced serious dissatisfaction over the arrangements for the party’s September 27 rally in Peshawar, instructing the leadership to take responsibility and improve performance, his lawyer and PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said on Monday.

Speaking to reporters outside Adiala Jail, Raja said the former prime minister was unhappy with the overall management of the rally — the first in 10 months — which was reportedly held at a cost of millions of rupees.

“Khan sahib received complaints about dust, poor facilities, and mismanagement at the venue,” Raja said, adding that PTI supporters had also condemned the inadequate arrangements and incidents of violence against workers.

According to Raja, Khan stressed that the party must remain connected with the public. “He made it clear that either the leadership walks with the people, or it will be left behind,” he said.

The PTI founder also questioned the choice of venue, urged restraint to avoid confrontation, and criticised the display of shoes during the rally, advising that the party should focus on “carrying the people along” instead of hostility.

Addressing speculation about Khan’s sister Aleema Khan’s involvement in party matters, Raja clarified: “She does not interfere in party affairs. She only conveys messages on his behalf. Imran Khan has directed that party leaders themselves must run the party.”

Raja further underlined that Khan’s narrative is “pro-state,” rooted in the supremacy of the Constitution and law. Responding to queries about alleged anti-state tweets, he said: “He has always spoken of constitutional paths.”

On the May 9 cases, Raja said Khan had objected to what he termed “WhatsApp trials” that denied him constitutional rights. He alleged that during hearings, Khan cannot directly communicate with his lawyers or confront witnesses.

“In the GHQ attack case, a phone is simply placed before him and proceedings are conducted through it,” Raja claimed, calling it a violation of due process.
