Rawalpindi, October 3, 2025: Security forces killed seven terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Sherani district, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the October 1 operation targeted militants of Fitna al Khawarij — a term used for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) — described as “Indian-sponsored terrorists.”

“During the conduct of [the] operation, own forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, seven Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the ISPR stated.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the hideout, with the militants said to have been involved in “numerous terrorist activities” in the region. A sanitisation operation is continuing to clear the area.

“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country and reaffirm the nation’s resolve to bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice,” the statement added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the armed forces on the successful operation, reiterating the state’s resolve to eradicate terrorism. “We will never allow those who seek to harm Pakistan’s integrity to succeed,” APP quoted him as saying.

Pakistan has seen a resurgence in militant violence, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the collapse of a ceasefire agreement with the TTP in 2022. Security forces and law enforcement personnel have been the primary targets.
