Colombo, October 17, 2025: The ICC on Thursday announced that the India vs Pakistan women’s ODI World Cup match on October 5 has become the most-watched women’s international cricket match of all time, reaching 28.4 million viewers and generating 1.87 billion minutes of watch time across digital platforms.

The game, played during the first week of the ongoing Women’s World Cup, also became the highest-rated league-stage match in tournament history in terms of TV viewership.

According to the ICC, the first half of the league stage has delivered record-breaking audience figures across both digital and linear platforms.

In total, the first 11 matches — including India’s fixtures against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and South Africa — achieved a reach of 72 million, marking a 166% increase over the previous edition, while viewing minutes surged by 327% to 6.3 billion.

Crowd attendance has also been strong, with full houses reported for India’s games and Sri Lanka’s home fixtures, though matches between visiting teams have seen comparatively smaller turnouts, particularly in weather-affected games in Colombo.

The ICC said, citing data jointly released with JioHotstar, that the first 13 matches of the tournament have reached over 60 million viewers, a fivefold increase from 2022, while total watch time has soared to 7 billion minutes — 12 times higher than the last edition.

The India vs Australia clash on October 12 also broke another record, attracting 4.8 million peak concurrent viewers on JioHotstar — the highest ever for women’s cricket.
