Islamabad, October 18, 2024-Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has assured Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan of a meeting with PTI’s incarcerated founder Imran Khan to finalize consultations on the constitutional amendment bill.

According to sources, Bilawal held a crucial meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Barrister Gohar. During the meeting, PTI’s Asad Qaiser urged Bilawal to facilitate the process, stating, “You claim to be a champion of democracy, and we have high expectations from you.”

Bilawal Bhutto assured Barrister Gohar of arranging a meeting with Imran Khan, saying, “I will make arrangements for you to meet the PTI founder tomorrow, where you can discuss the final draft.”

Sources further revealed that PTI has formed a committee to consult Imran Khan on the final draft of the constitutional amendment bill. The committee includes Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, Ali Zafar, and Hamid Khan, with Asad Qaiser also part of the delegation to meet Imran Khan.

The committee is expected to brief Imran Khan on the constitutional amendment bill and seek his input. Barrister Gohar stated, “We have reached a consensus with Maulana Fazlur Rehman. The committee has approved the same draft on which we agreed with Maulana.”

He added that after the meeting with Imran Khan tomorrow, PTI would present its final stance on the bill. Meanwhile, the special parliamentary committee has unanimously approved the constitutional amendment draft.
