Lahore, November 2, 2025: Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has admitted that despite consistent hard work and confidence in his abilities, things in cricket do not always go according to plan.

Speaking alongside captain Salman Ali Agha after Pakistan’s T20I series victory over South Africa, Babar shared insights into his approach and recent form.

“It was difficult to face spinners in the middle overs, so I decided to play them carefully and attack only when the ball was in my range — and it finally came,” he explained. “My focus was to play cautiously until I reached 40.”

Acknowledging his recent challenges, Babar said he remained patient and positive despite external expectations. “Sometimes it seems everything is fine, but things still don’t go your way. Alhamdulillah, today Allah has been kind,” he remarked.

Captain Salman Ali Agha lauded Babar’s match-winning contribution, noting the confidence his performance instills in the entire team and the nation. “When Babar scores runs, Pakistan can win any event,” the skipper said.

Babar’s unbeaten 68 off 47 balls helped Pakistan seal a six-wicket victory in the series decider at Gaddafi Stadium, clinching the three-match contest 2–1 against South Africa.
