Karachi, November 30, 2025: Pakistan men’s white-ball head coach Mike Hesson departed for New Zealand on Sunday after wrapping up a highly successful home season with the national team, which saw the Green Shirts dominate across formats.

Following the heartbreak of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 final loss to India, Pakistan rebounded strongly during a packed home schedule consisting of two ODI series, a bilateral T20I series, and a tri-nation T20I tournament.

In October, Pakistan hosted South Africa for three T20Is and three ODIs, winning both series 2–1. The team then swept Sri Lanka 3–0 in a one-day series before defeating Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe to clinch the tri-nation T20I series title on Saturday.

Across the busy calendar, Pakistan lost only three matches — one ODI and two T20Is — while winning all four series played at home.

With the home season concluding, the national side will now enjoy a month-long break. Their next assignment is expected to be an away three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, currently under discussion between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).

Hesson, a New Zealander, flew home to spend time with his family and enjoy the summer break. Sharing a photo on Instagram, he wrote: “This is the face of a tired but happy man. Tonight I start my long journey home back to New Zealand for a few weeks’ break. Missing my family and some warm summer weather. So delighted to have finished the season with a win, well played boys.”

Pakistan are also likely to host Australia for a T20I series early next year, with the tour expected to wrap up just days before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
