Islamabad, December 4, 2025: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday held an important meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, focusing on bilateral ties, security cooperation, illegal migration, and matters of mutual concern.
During the meeting, Pakistani officials formally handed over extradition documents for Shehzad Akbar and Adil Raja, urging their immediate repatriation. Minister Naqvi said both individuals are wanted in Pakistan and stressed that they should be handed over to Pakistani authorities without delay.
The talks also addressed the return of Pakistanis living illegally in the United Kingdom, a longstanding issue between Islamabad and London.
Naqvi also shared what he described as substantial evidence against Pakistani nationals allegedly engaged in anti-state propaganda from abroad. While reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to freedom of expression, the minister noted that “fake news is a problem for every country” and said no state can permit defamation or slander targeting its institutions from foreign soil.
He welcomed the UK’s cooperation on the matter and noted that Pakistan has initiated the formal extradition process through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Federal Secretary Interior Mohammad Khurram Agha and other senior officials were also present during the meeting, which both sides described as constructive and forward-looking.
