Islamabad, December 4, 2025: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snowfall in northern Pakistan tomorrow due to a weak westerly weather system. Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience light rain and snow, particularly at higher altitudes.
Officials said the mild system will lower temperatures in the northern regions by up to 3°C, and residents are advised to prepare for colder conditions and possible travel disruptions on snow-affected routes. The drop in temperature is expected to continue over the coming days.
Meanwhile, fog and smog are likely to persist in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with low visibility during mornings and evenings. Authorities may issue warnings to ensure commuter safety.
The weak westerly wave will affect northern areas tonight and continue into tomorrow. Despite being mild, it is sufficient to bring scattered showers and snowfall in mountainous areas. Travelers are urged to exercise caution while moving through hilly and mountainous routes.
Meteorologists noted that the weather system will not impact southern Pakistan, where plains will continue to experience cold, foggy, and smoggy conditions. Citizens are encouraged to stay updated with official weather forecasts to avoid any disruptions.
