Islamabad, December 15, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday emphasised that Daanish University will focus on promoting technology and modern scientific disciplines, as he chaired a meeting of the university’s Board of Trustees.

The meeting reviewed the university’s development, future plans and progress towards establishing an inclusive, world-class institution aimed at advancing modern education and technological innovation, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The prime minister directed that the university’s architecture should be designed in a simple yet dignified manner, reflecting its commitment to excellence and academic integrity.

Welcoming the chairman and members of the Board, Prime Minister Shehbaz extended his best wishes and underscored the transformative role of education. “Your endeavours will play a vital role in spreading the light of knowledge,” he said, highlighting education as a cornerstone for shaping the nation’s future.

He stressed the importance of appointing high-calibre research faculty and staff, directing that a comprehensive strategy be developed to attract top talent in both research and teaching to ensure academic excellence.

To maintain high construction standards, the prime minister instructed that contractors with a strong track record and relevant experience be pre-qualified for the project.

Highlighting inclusivity, he directed that special attention be given to students from remote and underdeveloped regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to ensure access to higher education for talented students from all parts of the country.

“Meritorious and deserving students from all regions should be given an opportunity to study at Daanish University,” he said.

The prime minister also recommended launching a nationwide outreach programme in public schools to raise awareness about the university and ensure that students across the country are informed about the opportunities it offers.

During the meeting, officials briefed participants on the progress of the Daanish University project, including the establishment of the Project Management Unit, approval of the university’s charter by the Ministry of Law and Justice, and its pending submission to the Cabinet and Parliament for final approval.

Plans were also shared to launch a countrywide outreach initiative, establish a Centre of Excellence aligned with modern academic needs, and set up training camps across Pakistan to assist deserving students with the admission process.

Outlining the academic vision, the prime minister noted that internationally renowned education experts have already been approached to guide the university’s academic framework and institutional structure.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Education and Vocational Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, along with the chairman and members of the Daanish University Board of Trustees and senior government officials.
