Islamabad, December 22, 2025: Chief Executive Officer of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBOIT), Qaim Lashari, on Monday visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and held detailed discussions with its leadership to explore avenues for institutional collaboration aimed at promoting investment, trade, and joint ventures between Balochistan and the federal capital’s business community.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to jointly organise a mega investment and trade event at the ICCI auditorium at the earliest possible time to showcase the vast investment and export potential of Balochistan. The proposed event will bring together investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and relevant stakeholders to highlight business opportunities across key sectors of the province.

Highlighting Balochistan’s untapped potential, Qaim Lashari said the province offers significant investment opportunities in minerals, agriculture, fisheries, livestock, energy, and tourism. He stressed that stronger coordination between the business communities of Balochistan and Islamabad was essential to unlock these opportunities and translate them into tangible economic outcomes. He noted that BBOIT was actively working to position Balochistan as an attractive destination for both domestic and foreign investors.

The CEO BBOIT emphasized that closer institutional collaboration between BBOIT and ICCI could play a crucial role in identifying viable areas for joint ventures, facilitating business-to-business (B2B) linkages, and encouraging private sector participation in Balochistan’s development initiatives. He invited ICCI members to explore investment opportunities in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and other priority sectors in the province, assuring them of full facilitation, policy support, and investor-friendly measures.

Welcoming the BBOIT delegation, President ICCI Sardar Tahir Mehmood said that the Chamber was keen to work closely with BBOIT to promote inter-provincial trade and investment. He stated that Islamabad’s business community had a strong interest in investing in Balochistan’s resource-rich sectors and underscored the need for joint business forums, investment roadshows, and delegation exchanges to strengthen engagement between the two regions.

The ICCI President further assured that the Chamber would fully support initiatives aimed at connecting investors with credible and bankable projects in Balochistan. He added that closer collaboration between chambers would help bridge information gaps, promote joint ventures, and enable the business community to benefit from emerging opportunities, particularly under CPEC-related projects and provincial development frameworks.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior Vice President ICCI said that enhanced cooperation between ICCI and BBOIT would help create new business opportunities, strengthen private sector confidence, and contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth. He emphasized the importance of regular interaction, effective information sharing, and institutional continuity to ensure long-term partnership outcomes.

He also observed that joint efforts by ICCI and BBOIT could significantly improve awareness about investment incentives and ease of doing business in Balochistan, expressing optimism that the meeting would pave the way for a durable institutional partnership and mutually beneficial projects.

The BBOIT delegation included Liaison Officer Aamir Kashan, Ms Asma Riaz, and Ms Zunaira Sarfraz, while participants from the ICCI side included Executive Member Zulqurnain Abbasi, Waseem Chaudhry, Ishaq Sial, and ICCI member Israr-ul-Haq Mashwani.
