Islamabad, December 27, 2025: Pakistan has reiterated its full support for the diplomatic initiatives being undertaken by Saudi Arabia to promote peace and stability in Yemen, the Foreign Office (FO) said on Saturday.

In a statement issued late Friday, the FO said Pakistan was closely monitoring the evolving situation in Yemen and expressed strong backing for regional efforts aimed at de-escalation.

“Pakistan expresses its full support for the diplomatic efforts being undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for ensuring peace and stability in the Republic of Yemen. We also commend the efforts of the United Arab Emirates in this regard,” the statement read.

The FO underscored the importance of preserving Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity, urging Yemeni stakeholders to refrain from any unilateral actions that could further aggravate tensions. It called on all Yemeni parties to engage constructively and in good faith toward an inclusive, negotiated political settlement based on agreed frameworks.

“Pakistan hopes that the ongoing diplomatic efforts will result in concrete steps towards achieving lasting peace in the country and bringing an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people,” the statement added.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions in Yemen following moves by the Southern Transitional Council (STC), the country’s main southern separatist group, which earlier this month forced the Saudi-backed, internationally recognised government out of its headquarters in Aden and claimed broad control across southern regions.

On Friday, the UAE’s foreign ministry welcomed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to support security and stability in Yemen, reaffirming Abu Dhabi’s commitment to backing peace in the war-torn country. Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, said on Thursday that Yemeni separatists should withdraw from recently seized territory, stressing its desire to de-escalate tensions within the government camp.
