Islamabad, January 2, 2026: Deputy Chairman Senate Senator Syedal Khan on Friday met delegations representing various walks of life at the Parliament House.

The delegations included doctors, lawyers, students, social workers, civil society representatives, tribal elders, prominent business leaders, traders and investors. During the interaction, Senator Syedal Khan said the present government, in collaboration with its coalition partners, is taking effective steps to promote development, prosperity and social cohesion across the country.

He emphasized that national progress and economic stability require close coordination and mutual cooperation among all state institutions, as well as between the federal and provincial governments. Only through collective efforts and institutional harmony, he said, can Pakistan be placed firmly on the path of sustainable development.

The Deputy Chairman Senate noted that the government is moving forward by taking all stakeholders and institutions on board, adding that the positive impact of these policies is now being felt by the public. He said the government remains sincerely focused on providing relief to the people, citing the recent reduction in petroleum prices as a significant step towards easing the financial burden on citizens.

Expressing optimism about the country’s future, Senator Syedal Khan said the time is approaching when the people of Pakistan will enjoy prosperity and have access to basic facilities comparable to those in developed countries. He stressed the importance of an active role by civil society in ensuring sustainable development, promoting social harmony and fostering a positive and constructive mindset within society.

He urged students, lawyers, doctors and representatives of the social sector to play their respective roles in national development and prosperity. He encouraged students to acquire quality education and contribute to job creation, called on lawyers to uphold their constitutional responsibilities and support social reforms, and urged doctors to further strengthen public healthcare services.

The delegations expressed confidence in the leadership of the Deputy Chairman Senate and the policies of the government, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue cooperating for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
