Japan announces MEXT Teachers Training Scholarship 2026 for Pakistani educators

Islamabad, January 9, 2026: The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan has announced the Teachers Training Scholarship 2026 under MEXT (the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology) for Pakistani teachers with at least five years of teaching experience at the primary or secondary school level, in either the public or private sector. Applicants must be 35 years of age or younger.

According to the embassy, the objective of the program is to provide Pakistani teachers with an opportunity to conduct research on school education in Japan and to learn modern teaching methodologies and techniques from Japanese experts, contributing to their professional development.

Under the Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship Program, selected candidates will undertake a non-degree teacher training course of up to 18 months at designated educational institutions in Japan. Upon successful completion of the required course, participants will be awarded a certificate by the host university.

The last date for submission of applications is February 12, 2026. Detailed information regarding eligibility criteria, application procedures and required documents is available on the official website of the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan.
