Jeddah, January 10, 2026: Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, inaugurated the new chancery building of the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah today, in a ceremony attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq, Saudi dignitaries, Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani, prominent Pakistani citizens, and consulate officials.

The inauguration featured the raising of the Pakistani flag, a tree-planting ceremony on the chancery lawn, ribbon cutting, plaque unveiling, and prayers for the welfare of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. A short video presentation highlighted the features of the new facility.

In his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah and Saudi authorities for their support in making the project a reality. He emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating overseas Pakistanis by providing efficient and effective consular services.

After touring the building and its facilities, Senator Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction with the project and authorized the prompt transfer of operations and consular services to the new chancery.

The Western Region of Saudi Arabia is home to approximately 1.8 million Pakistanis, and the upgraded chancery is expected to significantly improve services and support for the Pakistani community in the region.
