Vienna, February 17,2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday addressed a high-level event at the United Nations Office at Vienna titled “Sustainable Development: Pathways for Global Peace and Prosperity,” underscoring the inseparable link between peace and development and Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the UN Charter and multilateralism.

In his remarks, the DPM/FM emphasized that sustainable development cannot be achieved in the absence of peace and stability, noting that multilateral cooperation remains essential for addressing global challenges and promoting shared prosperity.

The event was attended by heads of Vienna-based international organizations, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of leading think tanks, and media professionals.

Senator Dar appreciated the vital role being played by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs in advancing the peace–development nexus.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthening cooperation with these institutions in pursuit of global peace, sustainable development, and international security.
