Pakistan, Ethiopia reaffirm commitment to South-South cooperation

Islamabad, February 17, 2026: Dr. Oumer Hussein Oba, Ambassador of Ethiopia, called on Mr. Sajid Manzoor Asadi, Joint Secretary of Pakistan’s Economic Affairs Division, in Islamabad on Tuesday to discuss strengthening bilateral collaboration.

The two sides explored avenues for cooperation across multiple sectors, including science and technology, public health, and agriculture, with a focus on fostering sustainable development and shared prosperity.

Ambassador Oba briefed the Pakistani official on the outcomes of Ethiopia’s Home-Grown Economic Reforms, highlighting his government’s commitment to enhancing South-South cooperation with partner countries.

In response, Mr. Asadi welcomed the progress made by Ethiopia and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued dedication to South-South collaboration aimed at promoting economic growth, knowledge exchange, and regional development.
