Islamabad, February 17, 2026: At the initiative of President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a unique “Babur Park” will be established in Islamabad, serving as a heartfelt gift from the people of Uzbekistan to their Pakistani brothers and sisters. The park is intended to become a landmark symbolizing the deep historical, cultural, and spiritual ties between the two nations.

From February 14 to 17, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan organized the visit of an official delegation led by Sherzod Khidoyatov, Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan. During the visit, detailed discussions were held with the Capital Development Authority, leading architects, and industry experts regarding the concept, architectural design, infrastructure, and implementation phases of the project.

Babur Park will be situated in the prestigious F-7 sector of Islamabad on 2.5 hectares. The park will feature modern walking avenues, elegant fountains, sports and children’s playgrounds, expansive green areas, and comfortable recreational spaces. A traditional Uzbek teahouse will allow visitors to experience Uzbekistan’s rich national cuisine. At the heart of the park, a bust of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, the eminent statesman, thinker, and founder of the Mughal dynasty, will be installed.

The project is envisioned as more than a recreational space—it will stand as a living symbol of shared history, cultural affinity, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Officials anticipate that Babur Park will become a major attraction for Islamabad residents and visitors, serving as a bridge of friendship and a symbol of mutual respect and brotherhood between the two peoples.

“This is not just a park. It is a bridge of friendship between our peoples, a testament to our shared history, and a promise for a shared future,” officials said, highlighting the enduring bonds between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
