Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has extended warm and heartfelt congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on its decisive victory in the recently held general elections in Bangladesh.

In his congratulatory message, Chairman Gilani conveyed sincere felicitations to the newly elected Prime Minister Tariq Rehman on assuming office and forming the new government. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of the BNP, Bangladesh will continue to make steady progress toward democratic consolidation, institutional strengthening, and inclusive socio-economic development.

Chairman Gilani appreciated the constructive and responsible role played by the interim administration and relevant institutions in ensuring that the electoral process was conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and credible manner. He noted that free, fair, and orderly elections reflect the political maturity of a nation and reinforce public trust in democratic institutions.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to fostering constructive engagement and harmony in South Asia, Chairman Gilani expressed optimism that renewed cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh would contribute positively to regional peace, stability, and collective prosperity.

The Chairman Senate concluded by extending his best wishes to Prime Minister Tariq Rehman and the people of Bangladesh for continued unity, stability, and success in the years ahead.
