Murree, February 25, 2026: In a major step aimed at strengthening security for tourists, residents and the local business community, District Police Officer (DPO) Murree Raza Tanveer Sipra has ordered 100 percent implementation of the Punjab Information of Temporary Residents Act, commonly known as the Tenancy Act.

Under a newly launched “Accommodation Monitoring Drive,” complete digital records of all occupants staying in hotels, guest houses, flats, apartments, and properties rented through Airbnb and other online platforms will be maintained. Property owners and managers have been given a two-week deadline to complete the mandatory registration process.

The initiative aims to ensure peace and order through a system of “Destination Identification,” enhancing the safety and sanctity of every household and lodging facility in Murree.

In an official statement, DPO Dr. Raza Tanveer Sipra said that Murree, being an international tourist destination, receives a heavy influx of visitors during peak seasons. He stressed that, in line with modern security requirements, registration is no longer confined to traditional hotels but is now compulsory for all private houses and apartments rented via online platforms.

To streamline the process, owners and administrators will be integrated into the police’s ‘Hotel Eye’ software system, enabling real-time transmission of guest data to law enforcement authorities.

The DPO warned that strict legal action, including registration of FIRs under the Tenancy Act, will be initiated against non-compliant property owners after the 14-day deadline expires. All Station House Officers (SHOs) in the district have been directed to ensure complete verification of tenants within their respective jurisdictions to prevent any unregistered non-local individuals from staying off the police record.

Dr. Sipra urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement in making Murree a “Safe City” by ensuring timely registration. He reaffirmed that Murree Police will continue leveraging modern technology to protect the lives and property of the public.
