Philippine Ambassador meets minority rights advocates in Islamabad

Islamabad, February 27, 2026: Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Ambassador of the Philippines to Pakistan, received a courtesy call from Samuel Payara, President of the Bright Future Society and Chairperson of the Implementation Minority Rights Forum, at the Philippine Embassy Chancery in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Mr. Payara and his team briefed the ambassador on their advocacy for the constitutional rights and protection of religious minorities in Pakistan. Discussions also covered potential scholarship and educational opportunities in the Philippines for deserving students from minority communities, particularly through Catholic and other higher education institutions.

Ambassador Fernandez thanked Mr. Payara and his associates for their visit and reaffirmed the Embassy’s willingness to collaborate with civil society partners promoting interfaith harmony, human rights, and respect for diversity. The engagement highlighted continued efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties and educational cooperation between the two countries.
