Rawalpindi, February 27, 2026: Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, on Friday gave a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq”, launched in response to recent cross-border aggression by the Afghan Taliban along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Lt Gen Chaudhry described the Pakistani Armed Forces’ response as “effective, immediate, and brutal,” emphasizing that the operation targeted only military installations while deliberately avoiding civilian infrastructure. He criticized misinformation being circulated by Afghan media, social media platforms, and what he termed “Hindustan proxies.”

Key Outcomes of the Operation

  • 73 Taliban posts destroyed and 18 captured.
  • 115 tanks, armored personnel carriers, and artillery pieces neutralized.
  • Strikes conducted across 22 strategic locations in Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Nangarhar, Khost, and Paktika.

Targeted sites included headquarters, brigade and battalion centers, sector offices, ammunition depots, logistical bases, and shelters used by militants.

The DG ISPR reported 274 Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij fighters killed and over 400 injured. Pakistani forces mourned the loss of 12 soldiers martyred and 27 wounded, highlighting the human cost borne by the country while demonstrating military precision and intelligence-led planning.

Lt Gen Chaudhry called the Afghan Taliban a “master proxy of terrorism” and warned that perpetrators of attacks against Pakistan “will not remain safe anywhere.” He alleged that the recent border aggression was coordinated with internationally recognized terrorist groups, provoking Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes.

He underscored that the operation carefully minimized civilian casualties, dismantling the Taliban’s operational capacity by targeting battalion and sector headquarters, gun positions, and key logistical nodes.

“Pakistan has delivered a well-deserved response to terrorists and their facilitators,” he stated, adding that the operation reflects the country’s unwavering commitment to defending its sovereignty and sending a clear deterrent message against cross-border provocations.

Lt Gen Chaudhry concluded by reaffirming that Pakistan’s security forces acted swiftly and decisively, neutralizing threats while demonstrating the nation’s military readiness and operational capability.
