Lahore, October 31, 2024 — Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in a meeting with Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari on Thursday, announced the allocation of 3,200 residential plots for journalists in Lahore.

CM Maryam instructed the Information Ministry to expedite development on the “Journalist Colony Phase II” project, emphasizing that “all merit-based and legal requirements will be strictly followed” in the allocation process. Describing the media and government as “two wheels of the same vehicle,” she called the initiative a well-deserved provision for the journalist community.

The Ministry of Information will soon invite applications, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.
