Islamabad, March 5, 2026: The Government of Pakistan has taken proactive measures to facilitate the evacuation of its citizens from Iran and assist Pakistanis stranded in various countries amid the evolving regional situation, the Foreign Office said on Thursday.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the ministry’s Crisis Management Unit (CMU) is operating round the clock to monitor developments and provide necessary assistance to Pakistani nationals.

He said that on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Special Facilitation Desks have been established at Pakistan’s diplomatic missions abroad to help stranded citizens with visa facilitation, logistics, and travel arrangements.

According to the spokesperson, Pakistani missions have also launched dedicated mobile applications, registration portals, and helplines to ensure timely outreach and support. The missions are working in close coordination with host governments to secure the necessary consular facilitation for the Pakistani diaspora.

The Foreign Office added that with the partial resumption of air connectivity, stranded Pakistanis have started returning to their destinations through commercial flights.

Reaffirming its commitment, the government said it remains fully focused on safeguarding the welfare of overseas Pakistanis and ensuring their safe and timely return.

Emergency contact details of the ministry and Pakistan’s missions abroad have been made available on official websites and were also shared earlier in an advisory issued on March 1 regarding the situation in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf.
