Smog engulfs Punjab, Lahore is the most polluted city in the world

Lahore, November 02,2024- Punjab is enveloped in air pollution, with smog causing every view to blur, making Lahore once again the most polluted city in the world.

The average smog levels in Lahore have increased to dangerous levels, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city surpassing 1,000. The AQI in the Defense (DHA) area has reached 1,853, while at Liberty Chowk it has reached 1,208.

Similarly, the AQI around Shimla Pahari has reached 1,007.

Due to air pollution in Lahore, respiratory issues are becoming prevalent, and complaints of eye irritation have also been reported. Medical experts have advised residents to wear masks when going outside.

On the other hand, in terms of air pollution, Kolkata, India, ranks second with an AQI of 311, and Delhi ranks third with an AQI of 258.
