Pakistan, Türkiye reaffirm strategic partnership, call for dialogue on regional tensions

Islamabad, March 29, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at the Foreign Office, as both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic cooperation and promoting regional peace.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, Hakan Fidan is visiting Pakistan alongside the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Egypt for consultations on the evolving regional situation and ongoing efforts aimed at de-escalation.

During the meeting, Dar underscored the historic and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, rooted in shared history, culture, and mutual respect. He expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation across all sectors of mutual interest.

The discussions covered the full spectrum of bilateral relations, with both sides exploring avenues to further strengthen their longstanding strategic partnership.

The two leaders also exchanged views on recent regional developments, including the evolving situation in Iran, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and sustained diplomatic engagement to ensure peace and stability.

Both countries reaffirmed their unwavering support for each other’s core national interests and agreed to maintain close coordination on regional and international issues, while continuing efforts to further deepen their strategic partnership.
