Islamabad, April 5, 2026: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has extended heartfelt greetings to members of Parliament belonging to the Christian community and to Christians across Pakistan on the occasion of Easter 2026, emphasizing interfaith harmony, national unity, and equal rights for all citizens.

In his message, the Speaker said Easter carries a universal message of love, hope, and peace, and acknowledged the vital role of the Christian community in Pakistan’s development and progress. He noted that religious festivals serve as an important platform to promote mutual respect, brotherhood, and interfaith harmony.

Ayaz Sadiq further remarked that Easter embodies the values of sacrifice, forgiveness, and service to humanity, adding that all religions advocate peace, tolerance, and coexistence.

Highlighting the importance of safeguarding minority rights, the Speaker stated that their protection is both a constitutional obligation and a national responsibility. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s Parliament remains committed to ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all citizens.

Referring to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he said minorities in Pakistan enjoy complete religious freedom and are an integral part of the nation. He stressed that unity, cohesion, and mutual respect are essential for achieving sustainable development and long-term prosperity.

The Speaker also called upon the nation to demonstrate love, solidarity, and harmony, urging collective efforts to build a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous society.

He concluded by praying for peace, stability, and prosperity in Pakistan and around the world.
