Islamabad, April 9,2026: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a key meeting with US Ambassador Natalie Baker to discuss the evolving situation in the Middle East and preparations for upcoming high-level diplomatic engagements in the federal capital.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the current regional developments, particularly in the Middle East, and welcomed ongoing efforts toward a ceasefire. The US envoy appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and proactive diplomatic role in promoting de-escalation and stability.
Discussions also focused on the high-level talks scheduled to take place in Islamabad, with special emphasis on logistical arrangements and security planning. Mohsin Naqvi assured that comprehensive measures have been finalized to ensure foolproof security for all visiting delegations.
The Interior Minister revealed that prominent international figures, including US Vice President JD Vance, as well as Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will attend the upcoming talks as special guests.
Officials reviewed detailed arrangements for the Islamabad negotiations, underlining Pakistan’s commitment to hosting the event in a secure and well-coordinated manner. The meeting highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between Pakistan and the United States in addressing regional challenges and advancing peace efforts.
The US Ambassador commended Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic engagement and acknowledged its efforts in facilitating dialogue during a critical time for the region.
