Lahore, November 8, 2024- Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated on Friday that India has not formally informed Pakistan of any decision to skip the 2025 Champions Trophy, which is set to be hosted by Pakistan.

While talking to reporters, Naqvi said that media reports are circulating in India for the past two months, suggesting that the Indian team would not travel to Pakistan for the tournament. He emphasized that if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has any reservations, they should formally communicate them to the PCB through official channels.

Naqvi clarified that no discussions had taken place regarding a hybrid model for the tournament and noted that the PCB was not considering such an option. He stressed the PCB’s commitment to keeping cricket separate from political issues and affirmed that preparations for the Champions Trophy would proceed as planned.

Highlighting the international support for the event, Naqvi stated, “I have held discussions with every country, and they all wish to play cricket in Pakistan.” He reiterated that all participating nations were keen on having the tournament hosted in Pakistan.

Earlier, Indian media reports suggested that the BCCI had declined to send its team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. However, the PCB remains undeterred and focused on organizing the event successfully.
