Islamabad, May 9,2026: Sardar Tahir Mehmood, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), has said that Pakistan’s youth possess immense potential to drive the country towards digital transformation, economic stability, and global recognition through innovation and technology.

He expressed these views while addressing the “AWS Student Community Day Islamabad” held at the ICCI Auditorium in collaboration with AWS Cloud Clubs and International Islamic University Islamabad.

Addressing students, faculty members, and IT professionals, Sardar Tahir Mehmood said the enthusiasm, creativity, and talent of the youth reflected a bright future for Pakistan. He noted that the global economy was rapidly shifting towards cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies, stressing that Pakistan must emerge as a creator and exporter of technology rather than remaining merely a consumer.

The ICCI president emphasized the importance of stronger academia-industry linkages, stating that the chamber would continue supporting youth-focused initiatives, startups, and platforms aimed at connecting students with practical industry exposure and professional opportunities.

He observed that events such as AWS Student Community Day played a key role in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and technical skill development among students. Encouraging young people to think ambitiously and innovate confidently, he urged them to contribute actively towards building a digitally empowered and economically strong Pakistan.

Sardar Tahir Mehmood also appreciated the efforts of the event organizers, including Sardar Huzaifa, Chaudhry Muhammad Javed Iqbal, Abrar ul Haque, Dr. Muhammad Usman, and Aizaz Mohammad for successfully organising the technology-focused youth event.

Earlier, Aizaz Mohammad thanked the ICCI leadership, particularly President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, for extending full support in organising the programme.

Among others present on the occasion were Muhammad Irfan Chaudhry, executive members Waseem Chaudhry, Ishaq Sial, and Zulqurnain Abbasi, along with members of the business and technology community.
