Karachi, November 10,2024- Former Finance Minister and leader of the Awam Pakistan Party (APP), Miftah Ismail, has said that the U.S. neither released nor has the power to release the PTI founder from jail.

Speaking to the media during a literary festival in Karachi, Miftah Ismail remarked that the release of the PTI founder does not depend on the U.S. If Khan comes out of jail, it will be for some other reason.

Miftah also shared his party’s vision and emphasized that the government needs to take a serious approach to health and education.

He added that while politicians criticize each other, they don’t consider the people’s welfare, and no politician seems willing to work for the public.

He noted that issues like unemployment, inflation, and health concerns remain unresolved, and urged the government to prioritize public welfare.

Miftah commented that the Steel Mills have already shut down, and if the same happens to PIA, the country would suffer greatly. He doubts that Shehbaz Sharif or Dar would move forward with PIA’s privatization.

The former Finance Minister also pointed out the ongoing unfair distribution of water in Karachi even after 70 years and noted that while the stock market has gone up, only a few will benefit from it.
