Ishaq Dar, UK foreign secretary discuss regional peace and stability

Islamabad, May 14,2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation on Thursday with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss the prevailing regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.

During the conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on regional developments and emphasized the importance of continued diplomatic engagement to address emerging challenges.

UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in encouraging peaceful engagement among the concerned parties and acknowledged its efforts in supporting dialogue-based solutions.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred means for resolving regional issues and maintaining stability.

The discussion also covered the broader implications of the evolving situation for regional security and international trade.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on matters of mutual interest and regional importance.
