Lahore, May 16,2026: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has received an invitation to attend the upcoming International Cricket Council Board meeting and the final of the Indian Premier League 2026, both scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad later this month, according to media reports on Saturday.
An international cricket news website reported that the ICC is set to hold a series of meetings, including the Chief Executives Committee (CEC) session and the Board meetings, where discussions on the future structure of the World Test Championship are expected to resume.
As per the report, the CEC meeting will be conducted virtually on May 21, while the in-person ICC Board meetings are scheduled for May 30 and 31 in Ahmedabad.
The IPL 2026 final will also be played on May 31 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium.
The report stated that Naqvi would ordinarily attend the ICC meetings in person, but prevailing tensions between the governments of Pakistan and India, as well as strained cricketing ties between the two boards, may affect his participation.
Sources said the PCB chairman has formally received invitations for both the ICC Board meetings and the IPL final and has forwarded the matter to Shehbaz Sharif for a final decision regarding travel to India.
The meetings are part of the ICC’s quarterly calendar and were initially scheduled to be held in Doha during March and April. However, they were postponed due to regional tensions and scheduling conflicts.
