Islamabad, May 22, 2026: Ambassador of the Philippines to Pakistan, Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, led a delegation from the Philippine Embassy during an interactive meeting with the business community at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) in Islamabad.
The ambassador was accompanied by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Rain R. Mendoza and Economic Diplomacy Assistant Shujaat Ali Umer. The delegation met with ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, chamber officials, business leaders, and industry stakeholders to explore opportunities for enhancing bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the Philippines.
During the meeting, both sides discussed potential collaboration in key sectors including agri-food and halal products, ICT and IT-BPM services, renewable energy, tourism, education, manufacturing, and MSME development.
Participants also highlighted the Philippines’ strategic position as a gateway to ASEAN markets, emphasizing the potential for greater regional connectivity and commercial engagement.
The interaction reflected the Philippine Embassy’s continued commitment to promoting economic diplomacy, strengthening institutional partnerships, and expanding business ties between the Philippines and Pakistan.
