Islamabad, May 24, 2026: The Foreign Ministers of 14 countries, including Pakistan, strongly condemned the opening of a purported “Somaliland” embassy in occupied Jerusalem, describing the move as illegal, unacceptable, and a violation of international law.

In a joint ministerial statement issued by the Office of the Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the participating countries said the move constituted a “flagrant violation of international law and relevant international resolutions” and directly infringed upon the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem.

The statement was jointly issued by the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Türkiye, Indonesia, Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Oman, Sudan and Yemen.

The ministers reaffirmed their categorical rejection of any unilateral measures aimed at altering the status of occupied Jerusalem or granting legitimacy to arrangements that contravene international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

They reiterated that East Jerusalem has remained occupied Palestinian territory since 1967 and stressed that any attempts to change its legal or historical status are “null and void and without legal effect.”

The joint statement also emphasized full support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Somalia, while rejecting any unilateral actions that undermine Somali unity or infringe upon its sovereignty.
