Washington, May 29, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington D.C. on Friday, where both sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed regional and global developments.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in Pakistan-US relations and reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Secretary Rubio acknowledged Pakistan’s diplomatic and mediatory efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in key sectors including trade and investment, security, and counter-terrorism.
The discussions also focused on advancing the Pakistan-US partnership through sustained high-level engagement and cooperation on issues related to regional peace, security and economic prosperity.
The meeting comes amid ongoing diplomatic engagements between Islamabad and Washington on regional security and economic cooperation.
