Ishaq Dar reaffirms commitment to stronger Pakistan-Sri Lanka relations

Islamabad, June 4, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday met a delegation from the National Defence College of Sri Lanka at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the delegation’s study visit to Pakistan.

According to an official statement issued by the Foreign Office, the Sri Lankan delegation is visiting Pakistan as part of a foreign study tour and was briefed on Pakistan’s foreign policy priorities and key regional challenges.

Welcoming the delegation, Ishaq Dar expressed his best wishes for a productive visit and a pleasant stay in Pakistan. He highlighted the importance Islamabad attaches to its longstanding relationship with Sri Lanka and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the value of academic and institutional exchanges in promoting greater understanding between the two countries and fostering closer ties between future leaders and policymakers.

The visit forms part of ongoing engagements aimed at enhancing cooperation and dialogue between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in areas of mutual interest, including diplomacy, defence studies, and regional affairs.
