Islamabad, June 28, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, on Sunday to discuss the rapidly evolving regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.
According to the Foreign Office, the two leaders reviewed recent regional developments following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
During the conversation, Kallas appreciated Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic efforts that culminated in the signing of the Islamabad MoU. However, she also expressed serious concern over recent ceasefire violations and underscored the importance of keeping channels of communication open to prevent further escalation.
Senator Dar briefed the EU foreign policy chief on Pakistan’s continued diplomatic initiatives aimed at developing a comprehensive framework for peace and stability in the Middle East. He emphasized the need for all parties to fully adhere to the ceasefire agreement and pursue dialogue as the preferred path toward lasting peace.
The two sides agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on regional developments and efforts to promote stability through diplomacy.
