Dubai, July 6, 2026: Pakistan captain Fatima Sana was on Monday named in the International Cricket Council’s Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament after producing a series of standout all-round performances despite her side’s early exit.

Pakistan won only one match in the 12-team tournament — their final group-stage fixture against the Netherlands — but Fatima emerged as one of the competition’s top performers with both bat and ball.

The 24-year-old led Pakistan’s bowling attack throughout the tournament and finished with 11 wickets in five matches at an impressive average of 11.27. She also scored 85 runs in five innings, underlining her value as an all-rounder.

Fatima’s most memorable performance came in Pakistan’s narrow defeat to South Africa, where she rescued her side from 50/8 with a fighting unbeaten 55 to lift the total to 126/9. She then backed it up with a spirited spell, claiming 3-16 in 2.5 overs.

Tournament winners Australia dominated the Team of the Tournament with four selections after lifting the Women’s T20 World Cup title for a record-extending seventh time by defeating hosts England in the final.

Australia’s representatives in the side were Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Ashleigh Gardner and captain Sophie Molineux.

Runners-up England had two players included in the XI — opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt — while Marizanne Kapp of South Africa, Nilakshika de Silva of Sri Lanka, Orla Prendergast of Ireland and Sree Charani of India also made the final XI.

Darcey Carter of Scotland was named 12th player after scoring 208 runs in five innings at an average of 52 and a strike rate of 111.82.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament is: Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Beth Mooney (wk), Nat Sciver-Brunt, Ellyse Perry, Orla Prendergast, Nilakshika de Silva, Marizanne Kapp, Ashleigh Gardner, Fatima Sana, Sophie Molineux (captain), Sree Charani, and Darcey Carter (12th player).
