Lahore, July 13,2026: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with the Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan, Paulo Guedes Domingues during his visit to Lahore the other day.
During the meeting they discussed enhancing cooperation in trade, agriculture, livestock, and other sectors. The Chief Minister said that the longstanding relations between Pakistan and Portugal should be further strengthened. She noted that Punjab offers vast opportunities for collaboration in pharmaceuticals, energy, healthcare, water resources, and digital innovation.
The Portuguese Ambassador praised Pakistan’s constructive role in the Iran–United States negotiations. He commended the Punjab government’s initiatives in the health sector, particularly the establishment of the province’s first public-sector cancer hospital.
The meeting also included discussions on establishing a Pakistan–Portugal Business Forum and promoting cultural and educational exchanges between Lahore and Lisbon.
Ambassador Paulo Guedes Domingues invited Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to visit Portugal. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz thanked the Ambassador for visiting Lahore.
