Karachi, July 16,2026: South Air has commenced scheduled flight operations from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, marking a significant expansion of Pakistan’s domestic air connectivity with the launch of new routes to Quetta and Islamabad via regional cities.
The airline has introduced scheduled services from Karachi to Quetta via Turbat and from Karachi to Islamabad via Bahawalpur. The inaugural flights, Z8911 to Turbat and Z8942 to Bahawalpur, departed from Jinnah International Airport on Thursday.
The new routes are expected to enhance travel options for passengers while strengthening the domestic flight network from Karachi, one of the country’s busiest aviation hubs.
Initially, South Air will operate one weekly flight on the Karachi-Turbat route and three weekly flights on the Karachi-Bahawalpur route. The airline also plans to expand its domestic operations by launching services to Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur and Gwadar in the coming months.
Operating under the Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration (TPRI) Licence, the new air services are aimed at promoting tourism, facilitating trade and improving travel convenience by enhancing regional connectivity across Pakistan.
The launch of the new routes is expected to contribute to greater economic integration and provide improved access to underserved destinations, supporting the country’s broader efforts to strengthen domestic transportation and regional development.
