Islamabad, July 18, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Pre-Council of Common Interests (CCI) Committee in Islamabad to review preparations for the Council’s next session.
The committee, constituted by Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council of Common Interests, held the preparatory meeting at the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office ahead of the 53rd meeting of the CCI.
Following detailed deliberations, the committee recommended to the Prime Minister that the next meeting of the Council of Common Interests be held in August 2026.
Addressing the meeting, Dar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening cooperative federalism, promoting effective intergovernmental coordination and advancing decisions that serve the national interest.
The meeting was attended by the ministers for Planning and Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, secretaries of the Cabinet Division, Council of Common Interests, Planning, Petroleum, Water Resources, Power, Health, Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, as well as other relevant stakeholders.
