Islamabad, July 23, 2026: The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), in collaboration with the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad, the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi and SriLankan Airlines, successfully organized Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) promotion roadshows in Karachi and Lahore to strengthen Sri Lanka’s position in Pakistan, one of its key tourism source markets.

The first roadshow was held in Karachi on July 8, followed by the Lahore event on July 10, bringing together leading Sri Lankan destination management companies and members of Pakistan’s travel and tourism industry for business-to-business (B2B) engagements.

The events provided a platform for Pakistani travel agents, tour operators and tourism stakeholders to explore new business opportunities and deepen existing partnerships with their Sri Lankan counterparts. More than 100 participants attended the two roadshows, reflecting growing interest in Sri Lanka as a destination for both business and leisure travel.

During the sessions, delegates highlighted Sri Lanka’s diverse tourism offerings and showcased the country’s capabilities as a preferred destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions and corporate events, alongside its established appeal for leisure tourism.

The programme also featured performances by a traditional Sri Lankan dance troupe, offering participants a glimpse of the island nation’s rich cultural heritage and adding a vibrant cultural element to the business-focused events.

In addition, media interactions with leading Pakistani news organizations helped enhance the visibility of the roadshows and promote greater awareness of Sri Lanka’s evolving tourism sector among Pakistani travelers.

The initiative forms part of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau’s ongoing efforts to expand tourism cooperation with Pakistan and encourage greater travel, business exchanges and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.
