Islamabad, August 8, 2026: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has welcomed the signing of the Joint Defence Agreement among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in Makkah, describing it as a significant strategic achievement that would strengthen collective security and contribute to regional peace and stability.
In a statement, the NA Speaker termed the agreement another important achievement of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s government and said it reflected Pakistan’s growing stature and its important role in promoting peace, security and stability in the region.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq commended the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for concluding the strategic initiative and congratulated the people of Pakistan on the landmark development.
He said the agreement demonstrated the shared resolve of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye to safeguard their sovereignty, security and territorial integrity while contributing to a peaceful and stable regional environment.
The Speaker described the agreement as a manifestation of the deep-rooted bonds of brotherhood among the three countries, founded on shared religious beliefs, common values and a commitment to peace and justice.
He expressed confidence that the agreement would provide a strong foundation for closer defence cooperation and open new avenues for enhanced collaboration and mutual support among the three countries.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also lauded the political leadership of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye for advancing the landmark strategic initiative and appreciated the leadership and professional contribution of Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
He said Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s steadfast commitment to Pakistan’s national security had played an important role in strengthening the country’s defence partnerships and advancing its strategic interests.
The NA Speaker said the people of Pakistan deeply valued their fraternal relations with the peoples of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
He expressed hope that the historic agreement would usher in a new era of enhanced cooperation, mutual trust and collective security while contributing to lasting peace among the three brotherly nations and across the region.
