Lahore, August 15, 2026: Honorary Consul General of Sri Lanka in Punjab Yasin Joyia will be conferred the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of his humanitarian services and contributions to the people of Pakistan.
Expressing his gratitude over the national honour, Joyia said he was deeply honoured to receive the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and described the recognition as a tribute to his efforts in serving humanity.
“As Honorary Consul General of Sri Lanka in Punjab and President of the Eye Donation Welfare Society, I remain committed to serving humanity, restoring sight and bringing hope to those in need,” Joyia said.
He said the honour belonged to the people of Pakistan and would further strengthen his resolve to continue serving society with greater dedication.
Joyia has been associated with humanitarian and social welfare initiatives, particularly through his work with the Eye Donation Welfare Society, which focuses on helping people regain their eyesight and improving the lives of those in need.
The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz is among Pakistan’s civil awards conferred in recognition of distinguished services and achievements in various fields.
